Change of registered address
Update your society's registered address for official correspondence.
The registered address is defined in the Societies Act as the address of the society that is kept and maintained with the Registry of Societies as the registered address of the society.
Under the Societies Act, a society may only change its registered address with the prior approval in writing of the Registrar of Societies.

What you should know
The registered address of a society can be a physical location or virtual office. The Registry of Societies will send all correspondences to your society’s registered address. Societies should ensure that any changes to their registered address are updated with the Registry of Societies.
The following addresses are prohibited from use as the society’s registered address:
HDB flat
PO Box
Undeveloped sites, e.g. Mukim Lot 8
Mobile premises e.g. containers
Unofficial addresses e.g. rooftops, void decks
Public places e.g. hawker stalls/ stores
Embassy/ High Commission
A letter of consent from the relevant authorities is required if the following addresses are used as the society’s registered address:
Community centre
Government agencies or statutory boards, schools and hospitals
What information you need
A Change of Registered Address application is to be submitted online at ROS eServices. The President and Secretary are required to verify and submit the application online. Supporting documents for attachment should preferably be in docx or pdf format. The file size of each attachment should not exceed 5MB.
Please ensure that your society’s outstanding Annual Returns, if any, are submitted and filed before making any application for Change of Registered Address.
What to expect
A fee of $40 is payable upon submission of the application. The application fee for the change of registered address is non-refundable.
Upon receipt of the Change of Registered Address application, the Registry of Societies will consider the application and where necessary, seek further clarification from the applicant.
